Think of Super Bro as an exercise in a kind of "compassionate
capitalism", which means we want our capital to make money doing
interesting things with people who are doing interesting things. The
profits these projects make are split with the artists and labels, our
end of the money goes into our own projects and there we go round the
mulberry bush.
Our distribution is exclusively by our sister company, Crosstalk
(www.crosstalkchicago.com), a music wholesaler and exporter. We do no
promotion, advertising, marketing, or sales. All releases remain the
property of the label or the artist, all promo inquiries should be
directed towards the label or artist, all sales inquiries should be
directed towards Crosstalk.
We are always looking for projects to involve ourselves with, but we are
fairly mercenary about what we invest in. We work full time and have no
staff, no office, no plan to establish ourselves as taste-makers, no
dream of world domination, no goal to retire on the sweat and creativity
of other artists. We have done well with hip hop, dub, and other
down-tempo genres, but we've branched out into other forms of electronic
music. By the nature of things we tend to work with artists and labels
that are already distributed through Crosstalk and we've never released
anything that came through any other channels.
